The National are a coming!

Finally...the news I'm sure all us poor people who couldn't afford to go to Electric Picnic have been awaiting... The muti- talented 'The National' are at last coming back to Dublin to perform an intimate gig, at which I would say is Ireland's best intimate venue...

The Olympia Theatre welcome the Brooklyn based five piece this December 2nd to thrill their evergrowing fanbase yet again...

After their outstanding performance at last weekends Electric Picnic, I reckon tickets for this little piece of heaven will be sucked up like gold dust...I may just stay up all night on Thursday just to be sure....

Tickets priced at 28.50 - 31.00 Euro go on sale at 9a.m this Friday morning the 10th.

Yes, I can feel my blood a buzzing already!

Oxegen 2010: The Best Bits- My Top 5 Acts

1) Muse: Muse are often referred to as, "the best live act on the planet" and anyone who had the pleasure of witnessing their Saturday headline spot can confirm this statement- thousands of times over....

The devine Devon rock band opened their epic set with "real" Muse fan favourite, 'Plug in Baby' and lets just say the fans did not need extra batteries!

2) Eminem: The rhyming lyrical genius had the crowd screaming and singing along for the whole set...the highlight of this singalong had to be new offering, 'I'm not Afraid'

3) Jay- Z: The Jigga Man! what can I say...a huge bag of mixed musical treats from the genius Mr. Jay- Z....The performance was actually voted no.1 by Oxegen.ie

4) Vampire Weekend: What a class start to the beginning of a magical musical extravaganza...Vampire Weekend gave the already soaked crowd the ideal pick- up to start their festival weekend....

5) Gossip: Miss Ditto slammed onto the early evening Heineken Green Spheres stage, with what can only be described an exhilarating rendition of the band's 2005 epic offering, 'Standing in the way of Control.'...

At this point the packed out tent proceeded to go wild!

I just can't believe it is all over..............OXEGEN 2011 Here I COME!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love an auld Ham Sandwich

Co. Meath Indie rock band Ham Sandwich, who the Sunday Times hailed as the "Ones to Watch" for 2008 have hit back with this cracker of a tune, 'The Naturist'...I love it, as I'm sure you will too.

The talented foursome play The Old Oak, in Cork tomorrow night...

Torn between two lovers

Oh the dilemma...Sunday night at Oxegen...Listen to the raging beat of The best dance crew on the planet...or the rhyming genius that is Eminem...please someone help!

...Well that hasn't helped, probably made things worse in fact...why oh why oh why! :(

For any of you good people lucky enough to be heading to Glastonbury

Gorillaz latest offering...Beautiful:

Oxegen: Oops they did it AGAIN!

Following the news that the people at Oxegen had to ruin things by clashing The Prodigy with Eminem...it's happening again- they have placed the amazing Delphic just before one of my favourites of the moment, Broken Social Scene, who headline the Red Bull Academy Stage on Sunday...

Too much of a mad dash I reckon...now here's an idea how about Broken Social Scene play an intimate gig in The Academy for example with support from Delphic following their Oxegen performances! How about it...anybody with me?...or just simply put these musical geniuses on earlier in the day, perfect chill out music in the sunshine...yes I highly believe this may be just be the year us Oxegen revellers will regain our Sun Gods!

Here is Delphic with their trancey offering 'Counterpoint' just to get the juices flowing...enjoy

Broken Social Scene: World Sick

If it's not bad enough that Oxegen are clashing Eminem with The Prodigy...the feckers had to go even one step further and clash the fore mentioned two with these musical geniuses...grrrrrrr.....not a bit impressed

Gorillaz: Melencholy Hill

A little bit of genius I reckon!...Gorillaz have stepped up the game tenfold with this one...
Perfect music for the ultimate chill out session...enjoy....

Lady Gaga- Alejandro

The definition of a great summer pop song I reckon....although not dissimilar to La Isla Bonita

And for some cheesy early 90's dance....They just don't make them like they used to!

Love it ;) Two Door Cinema Club...Happy Chappies

Hole: Remember these little "Beauties"...the songs I mean!

Metric: A Hidden Gem

Canadian band Metric, are one of those "Oh my God", how have I not heard of them before bands.

Fronted by the enigmatic vocalist/guitarist Emily Haines, this Canadian four piece have surprisingly been doing the circuit since 2001.

In listening to this talented indie crew one would wonder how come they only released one album and single over this way of the world.

Here's a sample of what they can do...I will let you see for yourselves what you have been missing.
